"The
Dragon Boat Festival comes on the
5th day of the
5th
lunar month, glutinous rice dumpling dipped in sugar tastes
good in mouth " Most Chengdunese, old and young, can
sing a few jingle lines like this. They are simple and easy
to recite, showing naturally the humor and wit of the
Chengdu people. These traditional children's folk rhymes at
the fingertips of the Chengdunese bring joys of life to the
local people. The adults are singing the rhymes to lull or
tease the kids, and the kids are singing them in their game
and play. Embodied in the rhymes are enlightenment, request
and amusement. They even help the kids in their learning to
speak. The traditional children's folk rhymes of
ChengDu have the rich flavour of life, and they are full of
unique charm and rich human interest both in their refined
and popular tastes.
Due to the time changing, it is impossible for us
to back to the good old days, but we can snatch the 'moment'
of the leisure life in Chengdu over our shooting lens.
To
look for the leisure culture, Tour to
Chengdu is recommended.
